Orland Ross Down

1922 - 2009
Peacefully, surrounded by love, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 of Mr. O. Ross Down, Veteran of World War II, former postmaster, age 86 years.

Beloved husband of 62 years of Jean (nee Hamm) Down, and much loved Dad of Jon (Carolyn) of Devon, AB, Janet (Wayne) MacQuarrie of Stratford, and Kathy (Rob) Mackay of Victoria, BC.

“Gramps/Grandad” is fondly remembered by grandchildren Andrew, Nathan, Marcus and Jonathan Down, Matthew and Kate (Colin MacBeath) MacQuarrie, and Scott and Daniel Mackay; sisters Doris (Bert) Dinsmore of Victoria, BC and Shirley Sherren of Charlottetown; sisters-in-law Ramona of Montreal, QC, Audrey of Calgary, AB, Carol of Rustico, and Betty McLaine of Charlottetown.

He was predeceased by parents Augustus and Gladys (Ross) Downe, brothers Don, Gus and Kenny, and sister Pauline.

Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m.Interment at a later date in the family plot at Hazelbrook Baptist Cemetery.

At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 of Russell Downe, Stratford and formerly of Charlottetown, age 85 years. Beloved husband of Jessie (nee Stewart). Devoted father of Paula Downe Willis (Barrie), Valerie Downe and Roma Downe-MacQuarrie (Blair). Proud grandfather of Brian Willis (Jennifer Ridgeway), Andrew Willis (Delphine Gauthier), Matthew Willis (Myfany Marshall), Peter Willis, Timothy Willis (Chole Campbell), Beth Johnston (Shane Ross), Blake Johnston (Jenny Meadows), Michael MacQuarrie (Trish Wolanski), and Ellen MacQuarrie-Hillier (Ian). Adoring great-grandfather of Lisa Murphy-Reeves, Manon Willis, Gabriel Willis, Colston Marshall Willis, Samuel Marshall Willis, Benjamin Willis, Daniel and Charles Ross, Mabel and Russell Johnston, Lennie (deceased) and Lachlan Hillier. Brother of Kallie Wood (Ed), Minnie Clay (Syd) and Roma Slomer (Bob, deceased). Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Edward (Florence), Robert (Gladys), Florence Crockett (Hawley) and Olive Hencher (Birt). Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Visitation on Friday from 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital or Trinity United Church.

Ernest Reuben "Ernie" Doyle

2015
Veteran of WW 2
The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 of Ernie Doyle, Second World War veteran, of Savage Harbour, in his 93rd year.
Beloved husband of the late Norma Doyle and dear father of Cheryl (Robert) Walsh, Brenda Lee (Parker) MacDonald and Eddie (Janet) Doyle. Ernie will also be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Penny (Ryan) Walsh-McGuire, Kyler Walsh, Kendra (Pete) Pasciucco, Kelsey MacDonald and Jillian, Erin and Lydia Doyle. Dear brother of Earl (Joan), Helen and Anne. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Elwood Donnelly; sisters-in-law, Denise, Irene and Pauline Doyle and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Barbara and Elisha Doyle, sisters Ethel, Veronica, Mary, and brothers Ronnie, Foncie, Bernie, John A., Gerald and Leonard.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Monday afternoon, then transferred to St. Andrew's Church, Mt. Stewart, for funeral mass at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

John Joseph Clarence Doyle

1926 - 2008
The death occurred at Whisperwood Villa on Monday, December 8, 2008, of Mr. Joe Doyle, formerly of King St., Charlottetown, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Gertrude Doyle (nee MacGuigan). Joe is lovingly remembered by his sister, Maureen Fullerton, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Tina, Pauline, Anne, and his brothers Leonard and Art. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held in the chapel on Thursday from 9:30 until time of funeral.

Leo Augustine Doyle

2015
Passed peacefully Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Prince Edward Home of Leo Doyle of Charlottetown, age 93 years, veteran of World War II.

Beloved husband of the late Mary Doyle (nee White). Leo is survived by his sisters Kay Doyle and May Williams; sister-in-law, Jean White and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ethel CSM and brother-in-laws, John Williams and Walter White. 

Leo was a former President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 Charlottetown and a former President of the P.E.I. Royal Canadian Legion Provincial Command. 

Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 4-7 PM. Royal Canadian Legion Charlottetown Branch #1 will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Tuesday 3:45 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Dunstan’s Basilica at 10 AM. Interment will take place later at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. 

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Catholic Family Services would be appreciated.

Louis Anthony Doyle

1925 - 2012
Suddenly at his residence on Monday, April 9, 2012 of Mr. Louis Anthony Doyle of Charlottetown, Veteran of the Second World War, age 87 years. 

Beloved husband of the late Florence (nee Perry) Doyle, and dear father of Judy Larkin of Toronto, Ont., Mary Kuhn (Bill Williams) of Charlottetown, Pat (Cathy) of Charlottetown, Joyce (Kent) MacDonald of Stratford, Ethel Farrow of Charlottetown and Tony (Stephanie MacLeod) of Charlottetown. He is also lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, his brothers Melvin (Shirley) Doyle, Barry (Lorraine) Doyle, Vernon Doyle and his sister Phyllis McCabe. 

He was also predeceased by his daughter Anna, great granddaughter Emily Margaret, brother Ernie, sisters Eileen, Connie, Vera and Noreen. 

Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 on Friday morning, then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Lt. Col. Richard L. “Dick” Doyle

1928 - 2013
The death suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Thursday, June 20, 2013 of Lt. Col. Richard L. “Dick” Doyle, CD. of Charlottetown, age 84 years. 
Beloved husband of 58 years to Doris (nee Costello) Doyle. Dear father of Pat (Paula), Kathee (Howard) Regan , Karen (Jim) Martell, Shane (Carol), Philip, Sherran (Peter) Henderson, and Athena. He will also be lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Natalie, Thomas, Rebecca, Jason, Kasha, Melinda (Ross Reid), Michael (Amanda MacKinnon), Kenneth (Heather), Natasha (Cory) Thompson, Stephanie, Michaela and Mackenzie, great-grandchildren, Evan, Charlotte, Matthew and Joshua, sister Babe Klea, and many nieces and nephews. 
He was predeceased by son Michael, parents Philip and Ethel (MacLean) Doyle, brother and sisters, Mildred MacLaine, Jack Doyle, Ledwell Doyle, Thelma Doyle, and Elaine Fraser. 

Dick graduated St. Dunstan’s University with BSc and U.P.E.I. with BEd. Dick worked in Halifax at the Dept. of Fisheries. He taught high school in Charlottetown and Brantford, Ont., adult education at HollandCollege. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish Council, taught religious education and was one of the first eucharistic minister’s of Holy Redeemer. 

Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Monday morning then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. 
Interment in the family plot in The Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. 

Visiting hours at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.

Peter Alphonsus Doyle

1917 - 2011
Surrounded by his loving family the death occurred at the Prince Edward Home on Sunday, July 31, 2011, of Peter Alphonsus Doyle, of 89 Kensington Road, Charlottetown, age 94 Yrs. Beloved husband of Colleen Doyle (nee Gaudet) and loving father of Patricia (Brian) Gill, Joseph (Gisele), Michael (Lise), Terry (Bonnie), Marlene, Danny (Rita), Valerie (Randall) Kott, Kevin, Mary Theresa (Peter) Sharkey, Carol, Christine (Leslie) MacDonald and Peter.

Peter is lovingly remembered by numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by sisters - Mary Murphy (Oswald) and Kathleen MacDonald (Athol) and son-in-law, Ken MacIntyre. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford for visitation on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 3, at St. Pius X Church, Charlottetown at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Flynn) Dunn, and dear father of Mike (Doris) and Sherri (Larry) Runighan.
 
He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michael Jr., Keshia, Natasha and Taylor, sisters Barbara Imough, Janie (Ted) Kitson, brothers Clarence (Sarah) Dunn, Joe (Elaine) Dunn, Gordie Dunn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
He was predeceased by his parents Clarence “Chow” and Helen Dunn, father and mother-in-law, Joe and Kate Flynn, sisters Florence Dunn, Joan Dunn, Edna Ryan, Beatrice “Beatty” Morton, Dorothy Dunn, Frances Sudsbury, Janet Dunn, and brothers Lloyd “Poggy” Dunn, Robert “Bobby” Dunn and Jackie Dunn.

Joe is also fondly remembered by his step children, Velma [Craig] Higginbotham, Barry [Cathy] Doyle, Kevin [Barb] Doyle, Trevor [Cathy] Doyle; grandchildren Nicholas [Maegan Jones] and Tristan Thomas and Andrew Dunning; step grandchildren Travis and Kelli Higginbotham, Aron, Kendra, Jennifer, Tyler, Randi, Kent, Jamie and Madison Doyle, great grandchild Kaeden Thomas and step great grandchild Colby Doyle; his sister Grace MacLeod and sisters-in-law Violet Dunning, June Dunning. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters Otto, Francis, Ernie, Dan, Velda, Jim and Betty Walsh.
