William A. "Pud" Beer

1924 - 2010
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of a very special gentleman, William A. (Pud) Beer on March 2, 2010 of Charlottetown, age 85 years, veteran of World War II. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years Joyce (nee Nicholson). Cherished father of Cheryl Butler and Valerie Lu Beer (Roddy MacKillop). Treasured grandfather (Pa) of Jeffrey, Ryan and Carolyn Butler. Younger brother of Col. J.P (Jack) Beer. Son of the late Jenny (Hood) and Ernest Beer. 

Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral Saturday from Trinity United Church at 1 p.m. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. If so desired, memorials to Queen County Home Care (Palliative) or The Salvation Army would be appreciated. Gerard Patrick Bell

1951 - 2008
As the result of a highway accident at Port Elgin, NB on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 of Gerard Patrick Bell of Charlottetown, age 57 years. Dear father of Patrick Joseph Alexander Bell and Amber Jane Langmead. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren MacKenzie Joseph Otavio Bell and Roman Patrick Martin Langmead. Brother of Frank Bell, Loyola White (Lemuel, deceased), Mary Gallant (Anthony, deceased) and Winnifred LeClair (Bruce). Brother-in-law of Wilfred “Tack” McKenna. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Jane (Bradley) Bell, by his brothers Allison and Joseph and by his sisters Joan Bell and Maureen McKenna. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where a memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Visitation Tuesday 6-9. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (PEI).

Harold Chester Bernard

2012
At the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Home Saturday, December 15, 2012 of Chester Bernard, age 90 years, veteran of Second World War.
Dear father of Mary MacSween (Dave) and loving grandfather to Jaime. Chester is also survived by his 3 brothers and 1 sister. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Bernard (nee Rennie), and parents, Harry and Mildred Bernard.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home. No visitation by personal request. Cremation to follow. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Willard Martin Betts

1925 - 2009
The death occurred peacefully at Beach Grove Home on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 of Mr. Willard M. Betts of Beach Grove Road, Charlottetown, in his 85th year, Veteran of World War II.

Beloved husband of Vertis Betts (nee Hall) of Charlottetown, and dear father of Terry (Cheryl) Betts of Maple Ridge, BC. 
He will also be lovingly remembered by three grandsons Kaleb, Chad and Luke, and sister Janice (Frank) Zwarich of Toronto, Ont. Predeceased by his parents Ruben & Roseanne (MacDougall) Betts; sisters, Mae Stewart and Cynthia MacDonald, and brother Arthur. 

Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1 Charlottetown will conduct a Veteran's Tribute Service during the funeral service.

Interment at a later date in the family plot at New Dominion Cemetery.

Charles Benjamin Bird

1915 - 2008
At Whisperwood Villa on Saturday, October 11, 2008 of Charles Benjamin Bird (Veteran of World War II), Charlottetown, age 93 years. Charles was born in Neil’s Harbour, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, the younger son of the late Richard Bird and Rachel (Williams) (James) Bird. He was most recently a resident of Whisperwood Villa , Pine Lodge and 6 Valhalla Drive before that and previous to these a resident of East Suffolk Road. He was the beloved husband of the late Muriel P. (Heaney) Bird for 59 years. Loving father of Dorothy Drewett, Charlottetown and Rev. Doreen Daley (Mike), Saint John N.B. Loving grandfather of Wendall Drewett, Charlene (Larry Wayne Arsenault), Charles Drewett, and Wendi Daley all of Charlottetown and Tracy Daley, Halifax. He is survived by 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one grandson Kenneth Drewett, by his brother Cyril and by his half-brothers George Bird, John Bird, Theo Bird and Joshua James. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 7-9 pm. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the UPEI Library Fund.

John V. Blacquire

2015
The death occurred peacefully with family at his side at The Mount, Charlottetown, on Monday, December 7, 2015, of Vincent Blacquiere, beloved husband of Georgina Blacquiere (nee LeClair), a veteran of the Second World War and formerly of North Rustico, aged 92. 

Vincent was the loving father of Camilla Doucet (Norm deceased), David (Linda), Ronnie (Irene), Donnie (Mary), Paul (Shelly), Joanne Doucette (Bobby), Carl (Laura) and Eric (Paula Arsenault); grandfather of Darren and Tracey; Krista and Jamie; Ashley and Johanna; Robert (deceased), Scott and Michelle; Dylan, Daniel and Dorian; Jillian and Katlyn; and Gabrielle and Noah; and great-grandfather of 16. He is also survived by special family friend, Reverend Brendon Gallant. Vincent was predeceased by his parents Jeremiah and Phoebe (Rodgers) Blacquiere; and brothers, Wilfred and Aubin. 

Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, December 10, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Charlottetown Branch # 1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Veterans Tribute Service at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Stella Maris Cemetery.

1932 - 2009
Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, October 25, 2009 of Major (Ret’d) Kenneth C.W. Bourgeau, CD of Charlottetown in his 77th year. Beloved husband of Elsie Anne Brown-Bourgeau and dear father of Edward P.K. (Youko) Bourgeau, Houston, T.X., Daniel A. Bourgeau, Burnaby, B.C. and Patricia (Yurgen) Wiedemer, Wurzburg, Germany. Ken is also survived by his stepson, Erik V. Brown, Bradford, Ont.; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Angus (Janet) Bourgeau, North Bay, Ont.; stepmother, Madelaine Bourgeau, Montreal, Quebec and numerous family members. Predeceased by his first wife, Wanda; daughter, Barrie Clarke; grandson, Peter Clarke and his parents Edward & Cecilia (nee Landry) Bourgeau. 

Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Friday morning then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. 

Visiting hours at the funeral home on Thursday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.

Peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, August 13, 2018, of Bill Bradley of Charlottetown, age 94 years. Beloved husband of the late Bernadette (nee Hennessey) Bradley and dear father of Allie (Donna) Bradley and Betty Dougan. Loving grandfather of Billy (Charity) Bradley, Mike (Amber) Bradley, Lindsay (Darin) Arsenault and Greg Dougan, and six great-grandchildren. Brother of Joyce (Robert) Gauthier. Predeceased by parents, William and Nell Bradley, son Ronnie and infant son. At the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Home on Friday, October 11, 2013 of Stanley Brown of Stratford, age 89 Yrs. Beloved husband of Theresa Brown (nee Cooper) and loving father of Debbie Murdock (Charlie), Cathy MacInnis (Art), Michelle Biso (Paul), Brian Brown (Rosie) and Lori (George Cheverie).

Stanley is also survived by grandchildren - Suzanne, Barry, Courtney, Vicki, Mallory, Danielle, Jessica, Julianne, Caleb and Kairi; great grandchildren - Brooklyn, Cohen, Gabriel and Ashlyn and sister - Elise Hillier.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter - Paula; brothers - Nelson, Roy, Finbar, Bobby and Morris and sisters - Clementine, Heida, Ella May, Cinderella and Thelma.
