Gordon W. Stewart, Veteran of World War II

Peacefully at Whisperwood Villa on Friday, May 10, 2013 of Gordon Wallace Stewart of Charlottetown, age 99 years, veteran of World War II. Beloved husband for 72 years of Lucy Marguerite (Cudmore) Stewart. Loving father of Pamela (Peter Ladell) and Robert (Elizabeth) Stewart. Bappi to Jennifer (Michael) McKay, Catherine (David) Hudson, Erica, Mark and Adam Stewart and 6 great-grandchildren. Son of the late Wallace and Edith (Large) Stewart and brother of the late Louis and Jean. 

Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral Friday from the Kirk of St. James at 10 a.m. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. John Malcolm Stewart

2014
The death occurred at his home with family and friends by his side on December 5, 2014 of John Malcolm Stewart of Caledonia. Age 83. 
Beloved husband of 65 years to Ella Langille (Tattrie). Loving father of Malcolm (Lynda) Paris, Ontario, Wanda (Kevin) Curley Brooklyn PEI, John (Diane) Charolottetown, and Cathy (Charles) Kirk Ponoka, Alberta. Predeceased by daughter Sandra; sister Mary Lamphier; nephew Eddie Lamphier; parents John S. and Helen (McCarthy) Stewart. Remembered by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & many nieces and nephews.
John was a veteran of the Korean War and member of the Canadian armed Forces (RCAMC). 
Resting at Southern Kings & Queens Funeral Home, Murray River, for visitation on Monday, December 8 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service from the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 9 at 2pm. A Legion service will be held on Monday at 6:45pm. A Masonic service on Monday evening at 9pm. Interment in CaledoniaCemetery.

John Nicholas Thistle

1922 - 2015
Peacefully at the Atlantic Baptist Home on Sunday, August 2, 2015 of John N. Thistle of Charlottetown, age 92 years.
Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Griffin) Thistle and dear father of Margaret Anne (Allie) Wooldridge, Mary Ellen (Ron) MacDonald, Myles (Leah) Thistle and John Jr. (Deceased) (Cindy). Loving Grampy of 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Brother of Mary Long (Jack deceased), Celia “Sis” (Junior) Dowling, Joe (Sylvia) Thistle and Mark (Betty) Thistle. John was also predeceased by his his parents, James and Melina (Arsenault) Thistle, brother, Claude, and sister, Lillian.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Wednesday, then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Charlottetown Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Veteran’s Tribute Service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m.
If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice.

Peacefully surrounded by his family at the PEI Atlantic Baptist Home on Monday, June 18, 2018 of Joseph R. "Joe" Thistle of Charlottetown age 87 years. Dear father of Betty (Allison dec.) McNally, Judy (Ted) Lawlor, Debbie (Alan) Thompson, Robert (Lorna) and Rick (Janice). Loving Grampy Joe to Wayde, Randy, and David McNally, Craig and Brad Lawlor, Curtis and Keith Thompson, Justin, Brent and Kyle Thistle, Trevor Thistle and Emily Baker and great grampy to 20 great grandchildren. Brother of Mary Long (Jack dec.), Cecelia "Sis" (Jr. dec.) Dowling, Mark (Betty) Thistle and brother-in-law of Virginia Thistle and Mary Chandler. Joe was also predeceased by his siblings, John (Evelyn), Lillian (Luke) and Claude. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Thursday, then transferred to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Members of the Knights of Columbus will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. and members of the Charlottetown Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Provincial Palliative Care Centre or a charity of choice. Lt. Col. Charles Dugald Thomas

Peacefully and surrounded by his family and friends at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, January 27, 2014, of Lt. Col. (Ret'd) Charles Thomas of Stratford, age 59 years.
Beloved husband of Debbie Thomas (nee Martin) and loving father of Michael Thomas (Nancy) and Laurie Brehaut (Ryan). Charles is also survived by his beloved grandchildren - Noah, Reeve and Charley Grace Brehaut; siblings - Albert Thomas (Theresa), Mary Thomas, Cathy Doyle (Barry), Scott Thomas, Frances Ford (Wayne); mother-in-law, Lucinda (Dickie) Martin; and brothers-in-law, Barry Martin (Sharleen), Clayton Martin (Sherry), Donald Martin (Lorraine Buell).
He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Lorraine Thomas and father-in-law, Lloyd Martin.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Thursday, January 30, 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Queen Charlotte Armouries on Friday, January 31 at 5 p.m. Interment will be later in West Covehead United Church Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to QEH Cancer Treatment Centre or Friends of the Regiment would be appreciated.
